Mindfulness in the Workplace
If there was a time for workplace wellness, it is now! While trying to navigate the changing world and going to work, whether you are actually going to an office or just walking over to your home office set-up, something needs to change.
The traditional 9-5 doesn’t work and we are starting to see the long-term effects on humans. Making your work life and ultimately home life, more mindful can reduce stress and make work more enjoyable.
Why Choose Mindfulness for Your Employees?
“The benefits of mindfulness are both clear and proven. Mindfulness programs help leaders and employees reflect effectively, focus sharply on the task at hand, master peak levels of stress, and recharge quickly. On an organizational level, mindfulness reduces sick days, increases trust in leadership, and boosts employee engagement. What’s more, mindfulness helps to unlock the full potential of digital and agile transformations. New processes and structures are just the starting points for these transformations.“ (BCG)
Work From Home Tips
How I incorporate mindfulness into my new normal work from home routine:
I start the day off without checking my phone.
Journalling or making a to-do list right when I wake up to remove any anxieties about the day.
Writing things down is one of the easiest ways for me to add a little structure to my days and make sure I don’t forget to do anything.
Some mindful movement before sitting down and making sure to get up and move every few hours.
I also sometimes just stand at my desk instead of sitting.
